The Philadelphia Anti-War Forum is a project that organizes forums, debates, films, and discussions to challenge the presumptions of the “War on Terrorism.”
Founded in September of 2001, right after the events of 9/11, the Anti-War Forum has organized, promoted and/or sponsored over fifty events held in venues all over the city of Philadelphia.

Topics have included the bombing of Afghanistan, the attacks on immigrants and Muslims in the US, the war with, and occupation of Iraq., the struggle for Palestinian self-determination, and other possible targets of US foreign intervention.

All of these events have been put together so as to insure the broadest possible participation of the audience, whether or not they agree with the presentation. We are committed to the idea that the movement against US interventionist policy can only be strong if it openly and honestly debates all questions and assumptions.

The Anti-War Forum is a project put together by a coalition of progressives, socialists, anarchists, pacifists, academics, communists and others. We have a tremendous political diversity, but share a common commitment to the idea that education is key to developing an effective anti-war practice.

Over the past five years, the Philadelphia Anti-War Forum has become recognized as an institution promoting honest exchange between activists, organizers, students, and teachers interested in understanding the current “War on Terrorism” and the impact it is having on our world and our times.
