In Surplus: Terrorized Into Being Consumers, Italian filmmaker Erik Gandini takes a hard look at the grotesque nature of civilization and the multifaceted resistance to it. Tackling weighty themes like consumption, technology, objectification, and domination, Gandini combines provocative images with insightful analysis by John Zerzan, anarchist author and member of the Green Anarchy: An Anti-Civilization Journal of Theory & Action editorial collective. Free food will be provided. The film will be shown by a member of the Green Anarchy collective along with a presentation of green anarchist ideas and their relevance today.
